The Tucson Trip

Today I am in Phoenix, yesterday, Tucson. There were flood warnings and apparently it hasn’t rained like this in years. Ninth wettest day ever recorded a few weeks prior, a good rainy season for this dry desert climate.

The inspiration from the wet heavy palms, the french grey skies, and electric pools have led to a painting everyday. The love and romance, excitement and vitality have gained momentum, resulting in an ease of viscous acrylic reflection allowing quick paint sketches and emphatic impulses of creation. I think I’ve found my next location, a trip to a foreign place, an uncomfortable relocation to a paradise many know about, The Tropics. I’ve never been anywhere tropical other than the PNW, although gorgeous, not the “tropical” I’ve read about. See images of #darktolight study below.
